How matching works
We don't send every request to every advertiser. We compare the companies that take a job, show you their record, and you decide who receives your request. Here is exactly how, and how we get paid.
The order of a list
What decides the order
Every company on a list is scored the same way, from public data and our own checks. The highest scores come first.
Rating
The public rating, adjusted for how many reviews it is based on, so a handful of reviews can't outrank hundreds.
Review volume
How many customers have reviewed the company in total.
Recent reviews
How actively customers are reviewing it now, which shows the company is still taking work.
Years in business
Experience counts, up to a limit, so newer companies with strong records still show up.
Complete details
Phone, website, address and hours that let you check the company yourself.
Record checks
The checks we could confirm, such as license, insurance, phone and address.
You choose who receives it
Every quote form lists the companies by name. You tick one company or several, and a separate consent box (never pre-ticked) confirms you want your details sent to those companies only. We never send a request to anyone you didn't tick, and we never resell it.
Record checks
Where we can, we check a company's license, insurance, business identity, phone number, address and website against public or direct sources. Each check is shown with its result (confirmed, partly confirmed or not found) and the date we ran it. A check we haven't run is shown as not checked, never as passed.
Who can be on a list
A company needs to be open, reachable and have enough public reviews to judge fairly. We publish a list only when there are enough local companies to compare.
Privacy and sharing
Your job details and contact details go only to the companies you choose, for that job. You can withdraw a request from your confirmation link. Request details are deleted after 12 months.
How we make money
How QuoteMatch earns money
Homeowners never pay. Companies may pay in four ways:
Per qualified request
Charged when a company receives a request a homeowner chose to send it, with real contact details.
Monthly lead packages
A set number of requests per month at a lower price each. Same rules.
Exclusive requests
When you choose to send to one company only, that request costs the company more. We never create one by hiding other companies.
Profile upgrades
More photos and project pages. No effect on order.
Corrections
Anyone can report a wrong fact: a closed business, a wrong phone number, a figure that looks off. Use the corrections form. We reply within two working days and note material changes on the page concerned.
FAQ
Questions about quote requests
What happens after I send a quote request?
The companies you ticked get your job details at the same time and contact you the way you chose, usually within a working day. Nobody else receives it, and you can withdraw the request from your confirmation.
How many quotes should I ask for?
Three is a good number for most jobs: enough to see a fair price range without a week of phone calls. That is why the top three are ticked by default; untick or add companies as you like.
How do I compare quotes fairly?
Ask every company to price the same scope: the same materials, equipment, permit costs and clean-up. Then compare the total, the payment schedule and the warranty, not just the headline number.
What do you do with my contact details?
We pass them only to the companies you tick, and only after you tick the consent box and press send. We never sell or share them with anyone else.
