Homeowners never pay. Companies may pay in four ways, and none of them changes a list.
Four ways companies pay
- Per qualified request. When a homeowner chooses to send a request to the company, with real contact details.
- Monthly lead packages. A set number of requests per month at a lower price each.
- Exclusive requests. When you choose to send to one company only, that request costs it more. We never hide other companies to create one.
- Profile upgrades. More photos and project pages.
What money can't buy
A higher place in a list, a better record check result, a request you didn't send, or hiding other companies from you. Sponsored placements are labelled and shown outside the ranking.
Invalid requests
Companies get a credit for wrong numbers, duplicates within 30 days and jobs they don't do, reported within 7 days.

Why is it free for homeowners?
Companies pay for qualified requests, lead packages and profile upgrades. That covers the site, so you never pay to request or compare quotes.
Does a company that pays get more of my requests?
No. Your request goes only to the companies you tick. Paying never adds a company to your request or ticks it for you.
Is a sponsored company part of the list?
No. Sponsored placements sit outside the list with a Sponsored label and never change the order.
